You’ve got to hand it to the Internet. There’s always something to read, shop and share…okay, and get far too carried away on Instagram stories too (!).

From some of our favourite sites, here are five things we learned this week….

1. We take too many showers.

Next time you’re about to take a long, hot shower, you may want to opt for a quick rinse instead. That’s because research shows too much showering and soap usage can cause an inflammatory response to our skin, while washing away healthy bacteria.  (WellandGood.)

2. Coffee before a nap is a good thing.

Yes, you read this right.  A cup of joe followed with a 20-30 minute nap will leave you feeling more alert versus a cup or nap on their own.  And if you think you won’t fall asleep, think again, Talk about taking ‘power nap’ to a higher degree.  (MindBodyGreen)

3. The cost to look like Jennifer Aniston.

From reported thermage treatments to brows, hair, diet and trainer, when it comes to looking naturally beautiful, Jen knows how to spend.  And let’s be real: If we had her Hollywood bank account, we’d being doing the same too.  (Charlotte’s Book)

4. Boost your Thyroid and Fat-Burning with Tyrosine.

When our thyroid isn’t functioning right, we feel tired, gain weight, feel cold and often depressed. Along with iodine and selenium, the amino acid tyrosine, is required for the formation of thyroid hormones.  If you suspect you’re deficient, a supplement may be worth considering. (Dr. Natasha Turner)

5. Caged eggs vs. free range. Can you say shockingly different?!”

Whether you like them over-easy or softly poached, eggs are a healthy source of protein, fat and choline. But if you’re buying caged, you’re not getting the best of them (not even close) compared to free range. Not to mention increased risk for salmonella.  (HealthAmbition.com)
